Telford & Wrekin Adult Carers Service

01952 240209

Telford & Wrekin Carers Centre is funded by Telford and Wrekin Council and Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group.  It is a CVS community managed project. The Centre houses a combined all age Adult and Young Carers Service.

The role of the adult section of the Carers Centre is to support and enable family carers, over the age of 18, to improve their quality of life and to be more confident and able in their caring role.

The person/people carers look after are also over 18, and may have a physical disability or illness, a learning disability or mental health issue.  The Carers Centre aim to meet the needs of carers in a variety of ways depending on their preferences, the difficulties they may be facing and the level of care they are providing.

The Carers Centre has support workers who understand the problems carers face, and who are there to listen and offer specialist, individual and group support.

How can the Carers Centre help:

  • provide a 'listening ear' and give support when it is needed most, either by telephone or face-to-face

  • help carers access the support and services that are available to them

  • help create opportunities for carers to have a voice in the planning and development of services

  • help carers to access appropriate financial support and/or grants

  • provide up to date information

  • run support groups that meet in venues around Telford and Wrekin providing an opportunity to socialise and take a break from their caring role, share information, gain support and discuss topics of interest with carers in similar situations

If are are someone over 18 who cares, who you know someone who cares, get in touch for information, advice and support.
