Independent Living Centre

 01952 457181

The Independent Living Centre is funded by Telford Wrekin Council in partnership with Telford & Wrekin CVS and is located at Telford Town Centre within the Hazeldine House shopping complex.

The ILC was commissioned in the spring of 2020 to offer both preventative and responsive support to individuals to enable them and their families to live well and safe in their community.

People can come along to receive support around daily living as well as access the wide ranging information, advice and signposting the centre offer.

Our dedicated team are ideally positioned to help and assess the needs of our local residents enabling the individuals and their family to make informed decisions and enhanced life choices.

The purpose built environment we have created has enabled the centre to provide a ‘show home’ with built in features to both physically and digitally promote independent living and to reduce costs of care and support needs using modern technology and Assistive Equipment solutions.

We have on-site TEC (Technology Enabled Care), Sensory & Visual Impairment and Occupation Therapy equipment available, enabling residents to ‘try before they buy’ when looking for the solutions they need to maintain independence in their own homes.

The Independent Living Centre is a physical space and digital platform open to everyone who would like to support vulnerable people and an aging population living within Telford & Wrekin.

In addition to providing a centrally-located site for assessments and equipment trial, Telford & Wrekin Council (our joint leads on this project)  have used innovative technology to develop a virtual house for them. So that from the comfort of their own homes, people can easily take a tour and learn about useful aids and gadgets that can help them or their loved ones live as independently as possible.
