Telford and Wrekin CVS Team

Telford and Wrekin CVS is supervised by a board of trustees, managed by Mrs Debbie Gibbon, Chief Executive Officer and staffed by a team of committed and dedicated individuals who work hard to provide comprehensive services for a better community.

Debbie Gibbon, Chief Executive Officer

Debbie joined Telford and Wrekin CVS in 2005 as a support worker for Telford SEND IASS. During her time within the organisation she has managed Telford SEND IASS, Telford Young Carers and Telford Carers Centre. She joined the senior leadership team in 2015 and became the Chief Executive Officer in 2017. Debbie has worked in front line services for vulnerable people, initially children services and then adult services for all her working life working within the public sector, a national organisation and in the voluntary and community sector.

Debbie grew up in an area of poverty, surrounded by extended family in the 1970s. Community and family-based support was really important to thrive and achieve. She is passionate about change for the better. She has a high expectation of all our service delivery based upon organisational values, principles and integrity.

Alongside our Board of Trustees, she is  proud to lead Telford and Wrekin CVS into the future and strive to make every decision in the best interests of our organisation and our staff team.

Julie Collins , SEND IASS Service Manager

Julie has been part of Telford and Wrekin CVS Organisation since 2005.  She moved to Telford, Newport having worked in both the statutory and voluntary sector in South Derbyshire.  Julie initially gained experience within early years settings and qualified as a nursery nurse.  She ran a local preschool and worked in a voluntary capacity as a Rainbow’s guide within her.

She gained further experience within her role in family support at a Barnardos family centre and began to develop a greater understanding of the issues that families can face and how important it is to feel part of a local community.  Julie completed by Social Work Diploma and extended her knowledge and skills within the context of statutory services. She later returned to Barnardos as a social worker to develop a rural community project.

Her passion has always remained community focused as she believes that there is strength in working together, being part of the local community and working within the CVS Organisation has enabled her to have a greater understanding of what support is available locally for many families who access Telford and Wrekin SENDIASS service. Julie has been fortunate to be able to take part in raising much needed funds through the Alzheimer’s Society and have supported dementia raising events, through her own personal experience.
