Telford SEND IASS
What is SEND IASS?
Telford and Wrekin CVS manage “SEND IASS” project funded by Telford and Wrekin Council and Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group to provide “Information advice & support” service (IASS) for children and young people and their families up to 25 with a special educational need or disability.
Who can access the service?
If you are a parent with a child at school, or a young person up to the age of 25, and you are looking for practical help with special educational needs procedures, information concerning health or social care, or you just want someone to listen to your concerns, the service is there to help you, whether you have had a diagnosis or not. The special educational need may be:
·specific learning difficulty (dyslexia)
·physical or medical problems
·developmental coordination disorder (DCD)
·dyspraxia, or sensory difficulties
·learning difficulty or learning disability
·behavioural or emotional difficulties
·moderate/severe learning difficulty
What are the services provided?
Provide help and support to give both parents, children and young people confidence in being able to take an active role in making sure their educational needs are met.
Offer independent and impartial information,
advise and support to enable parents to make informed decisions.
