Building Better Opportunities (BBO )
What is BBO?
“Building Better Opportunities” (BBO) programme is jointly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and The European Social Fund to tackle poverty and promote social inclusion.
Telford and Wrekin CVS deliver the BBO programme activities within Telford alongside 20 other partner organisations across Shropshire to provide pre-employment support for disadvantaged people aged 19 and over who are not in work.
Who can access the service?
The programme focusses on disadvantaged people aged over 19 who are furthest from the labour market. This may include:
Those who have been out of work for some time
Those who have a physical disability or learning difficulty, or who have autism
Those who lack qualifications or skills
What are the services provided?
BBO supports unemployed citizens to engage in volunteering activity to move forward into employment
Provide access to volunteering opportunities
Personal assessment to ensure services match participants’ needs.
Offer volunteer placement
Support and enable them to acquire appropriate skills, learning and training activities, including confidence, motivation and basic skills.
